ZA kits have been specifically designed for the South African Market combining the largest battery supply available and the 24V DC motors to give the best possible speed of operation and a unmatchable battery operation runtime. These new Kit configurations are absolutely ideal to accommodate longer periods of load shedding.
24 V DC Systems
24 V DC operators use a transformer to step down the power from the mains to operate the gates and have all the features of 230 V systems plus some additional elements.
24 V motors are suitable for intensive use and are recommended particularly for commercial situations or on residential apartments or estates where the gates will be opened over 8 times an hour. The installation of 24 V operators is more time intensive therefore expect to pay a little more for them.
24 V systems have additional advanced activation and safety features built in to the control panels. These include slowdown functions at the beginning and end of the opening run, enhanced obstacle detection.
Battery Back Up
BATTERY BACKUP provided on the sytem to ensure that the the system remains functioning even if there is a power outage.
With load shedding a huge concern in the South African market, it is important to understand the number of operations a motor can perform when the battery source is called upon. CAME products show a Battery Back Up Operations symbol, giving you a clear indication of the operating power when called upon in load shedding periods.

Using our 24v DC battery supply, in conjunction with a parallel mains supply, when mains power is eventually restored after power cuts or load shedding, CAME’s PowerStart technology enables the 24v DC motor to operate immediately at full capacity and speed removing the need to wait for batteries to re-charge!
